TikTok username questions
- What are TikTok's username rules?
- TikTok usernames must be 2–24 characters long and can only contain letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), underscores (_), and periods (.). Consecutive periods (..) are not allowed. Spaces and special characters like hyphens, @, and # are not permitted.
- Can I change my TikTok username?
- Yes — TikTok lets you change your username once every 30 days. Go to Profile → Edit profile → Username to update it.
- Is my TikTok username case-sensitive?
- No. TikTok stores usernames in lowercase. You may type uppercase letters but TikTok treats @YourName and @yourname as the same handle.
- Can I use periods in a TikTok username?
- Yes, periods (.) are allowed but you cannot use two consecutive periods (..) and the period rules mean your handle must still consist only of letters, numbers, underscores, and periods.
- Why does this tool say 'appears available'?

- What is the maximum TikTok username length?
